Flat floors before the finish goes down

Uneven slabs cause failed tile, hollow spots, lippage, and rocking equipment. This matters most on tenant build-outs and renovations, where an old slab has to accept new flooring. We read the slab with a straightedge and grinding, take down the high spots, and fill the low areas with self-leveling underlayment so the surface meets the flatness the finish flooring needs.

How we level a slab

We map the floor to find the high and low points, then grind the highs flat with our diamond equipment. Where areas sit low, we prime and place a self-leveling underlayment rated for the finished floor and traffic. The result is a flat, sound surface ready for tile, LVT, coatings, or polish. Dust is contained the whole time so the rest of the building keeps running.

Who we do this for

Tenant build-outs

Old, out-of-level slabs brought flat so new tile and LVT go down without lippage.

Retail & hospitality

Level floors that keep large-format tile and finished surfaces looking right.

Warehouses

Grinding and flattening that corrects transitions and worn areas for traffic and racking.

Renovations

Existing slabs corrected in place, no tear-out, ready for the next floor.

Why All West Surface Prep

We have flattened and prepped floors across Colorado since 1990. Because we also do the polishing and coatings, we level to the tolerance the final floor actually needs instead of guessing. We bring the grinders and the crew to correct the slab in place and hand the flooring installer a surface that is ready.

Frequently asked questions

Do you pour new concrete?

No. We work on existing slabs. We grind down high spots and place self-leveling underlayment in low areas. We do not pour new structural concrete.

How flat does my floor need to be?

It depends on the finish. Large-format tile and polished floors need tighter flatness than carpet or coatings. We level to the tolerance your specific floor calls for.

Can you fix a floor without tearing it out?

Usually, yes. Grinding and self-leveling underlayment correct most slabs in place, which is faster and cheaper than removal.

Do you level floors outside Denver?

Yes. We cover the Front Range and travel regionally for commercial and industrial jobs.
